Care of Nicole Vazquez Sterling Silver Beaded Jewelry

With proper care, your sterling silver jewelry will last a lifetime. Tarnishing is a natural occurrence when silver reacts with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the air. Tarnish is most easily removed when it first becomes visible.

Wearing your sterling silver jewelry is often the best way to prevent tarnish from building up, but it is recommended that your jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

Avoid contact with hairspray, perfume, oils, make-up and suntan lotion. Avoid exposing your silver jewelry to household chemicals such as bleach, or ammonia. Avoid swimming in chlorinated water. All of these everyday items can cause chemical reactions that can damage your silver.

To maintain the original condition of your jewelry, polish your pieces regularly using a non-abrasive cleaning cloth. Nicole Vazquez does not recommend the use of jewelry ‘dips’ or abrasive cleaners.

When you are not wearing your jewelry, it should be stored in a cool dry place. Zip-lock bags or individual jewelry pouches are ideal. To prevent scratching each piece should be stored separately and not loosely in your jewelry box.

To maintain the shape and stability of your piece, occasional restringing may be required.
